As we all know, it feels like we're constantly under surveillance these days. Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer is keeping track of everything we do! 🎯
(Thats a good thing)
While we're exploring how athletic trainers are moving into diverse settings, what really stands out to me are the 9.49% working in "other" areas and the 6.21% who aren't currently practicing.

That means 15% of certified athletic trainers remain somewhat of a mystery to our profession. While I’m sure they're still making valuable contributions and applying their AT skills in creative new ways, it's a significant portion of our community that is unaccounted for.

It’s really eye-opening to see that 15% of certified athletic trainers are in “other” roles or not actively practicing. It shows how broad and transferable AT skills can be—even beyond traditional settings. Makes me wonder how many of them are pursuing totally different paths or even helping others in unique ways, like academic coaching or support roles. Speaking of stepping into new roles, I recently found a great service to take my GED test for me—a real game-changer for those pivoting careers or educational paths, just like some of these trainers might be doing!
