How do you beat bureaucracy? Get them in the weeds of operations!

Home Depot
Home Depot is launching a new policy designed to strengthen the link between corporate leadership and retail operations. Starting in the fourth quarter of 2024, all corporate employees, including senior executives and remote staff, will be required to work an eight-hour shift at one of the company’s retail stores each quarter.
“We need to stay connected to the heart of our business to better understand the challenges and opportunities our store associates face every day,” said CEO Ted Decker in a message to employees.
DoorDash
DoorDash has rolled out a similar initiative called WeDash, which requires all employees—across the U.S., Canada, and Australia, from engineers to the CEO—to complete at least one food delivery per month. The goal is to provide staff with a firsthand understanding of their product, highlight how their decisions impact Dashers and customers, and ensure strong customer connections as the company continues to grow.
Get back to the roots of the organization to understand what your organization needs for efficiently.
